Spiral Stairs- The Real Feel (2009)

In the tradition of such artists as Five for Fighting, Spiral Stairs succeeded in confusing me into thinking he was a group and not one person. So in order to prevent any more confusion, I will put this plainly. This is Scott Kannberg’s (aka Spiral Stairs) solo career debut. Previously the guitarist of the Stockton, Californian group Pavement (1989 – 1999), and Preston School of Industry (1999 – 2004), Scott worked with fellow musicians and friends, including some from PSOI, to make The Real Feel. Atlas Sound’s Logos

Bradford Cox, lead singer of Deerhunter and the mind behind Atlas Sound, describes the process of writing a song for his solo project as “completely stream-of-consciousness,” an especially apt description for Atlas Sound’s second album, Logos. Karen O + Children= Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack (2009)

So we love Karen O. She has this incredible energy, a haircut few people can pull off, and really great outfits. And oh yeah, her music is pretty great too. Remember when she did that fan video for “Cheated Hearts” that included just about everyone who has ever wanted to impersonate Karen O?
Well, as if The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s lead singer wasn’t already near and dear to our hearts, we can now credit her with the soundtrack to the greatly anticipated cinematic adaptation of the children’s classic, Where the Wild Things Are. I mean, I was dying to see this movie the second I heard about it, but now that I know Karen O is involved, I’m pretty close to implosion.
